Have owned 2 of these,but recently noticed that even though the shell remains the same,Diamond changed the interior padding. This caused the back plate of the helmet to not fit as snugly on my daughter's smaller head. But with a slight home modification, good to go. Also, the chin pad on the updated model is larger, which may be preferred by some, but my kid preferred the smaller pad, so i just swappped it out with an old one. Still one of the best fitting,best looking helmets out there
