Studies show that incorrect sliding into a baseball base is responsible for over 70% of recreational baseball and softball injuries and that switching to Rogers would eliminate 98% of these injuries, a fact that was not ignored by some pretty influential folks.
The Institute of Preventive Sports Medicine reported that Rogers Breakaway Bases could prevent almost two million sliding injuries annually and the related $2 billion in health care costs each year. The American Journal of Sports Medicine declared that Rogers Breakaway Bases "...should be mandated".
Base Components
Base Top: Pliable but extremely durable. Only disengages with improper slides, never with proper ones.
Base Plate: Unlike the competition, the base plate sits below the field and is not a secondary hazard. Fits all levels of base tops.
Anchor Housing: The foundation. Maintains integrity of system for many years. Fits all Rogers baseplates.
