haven't had a chance to try them yet in a game but they look and feel like it will do the job well, and a different look from the normal throat guards.

I ordered the padded Diamond 6" throat guard, due to its back-padding feature, longer length & reasonable price. I believe that this will greatly improve the safety of my baseball facemasks & the product itself is very well-made.
